Since May 2023, we have been modernizing our flour delivery services in the Île-de-France region and Paris using our two 100% electric trucks. Today, we are taking another step forward by extending our commitment to the Bordeaux region: three new electric vehicles are joining our fleet, operating out of the Bordeaux mill. Fewer emissions, but the same high standards of quality for our customers.
A key strategy for reducing our carbon footprint
The Bordeaux mill is taking steps to reduce the third-largest source of CO₂ emissions within Grands Moulins de Paris’s operations: freight. In partnership with our carriers, Mauffrey and Veynat, the company is implementing concrete solutions to limit its environmental impact.
Electric and biogas vehicles for lower-emission routes
Since November, in partnership with our transportation provider Mauffrey, two electric trucks and one biogas-powered truck have been delivering to artisan bakers in Bordeaux and the surrounding area. In addition to significantly reducing CO₂ emissions, these vehicles are particularly appreciated by drivers for their quiet operation, both while driving and during early-morning deliveries, thereby helping to keep the neighborhood quiet. Thanks to these initiatives, an 89% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions was recorded in January 2025, representing a reduction of 4.5 metric tons of CO₂ equivalent across these three delivery routes.
A first in France in our industry!
Another major milestone: in January, we launched, in partnership with our transportation provider Veynat, an electric tractor specifically designed for bulk deliveries using single-tank tankers with a capacity of 25 to 28 tons. This vehicle enables usto supply our industrial customers located near the mill. This is a first-of-its-kind innovation in France within our industry! In addition, we have begun replacing conventional tractors with models running on B100, a biofuel derived from rapeseed, for all short trips of less than 100 km around our mill.
An expanded commitment
To further reduce our environmental impact, the maintenance team at the Bordeaux mill now uses an electric van for its daily trips.
Through these initiatives, Grands Moulins de Paris is strengthening its commitment to more sustainable logistics and continues to innovate to reduce its environmental footprint.
