Offer traditional 100% wheat baguettes

According to a study published in September 2018, 86% of French people pay attention to their diet, and want to consume more healthy, "natural" products. Consumers are therefore looking for products without additives, enzymes, artificial coloring and/or flavoring.

Aware of these new needs, Grands Moulins de Paris has embarked on a Clean Label initiative, aimed at simplifying the ingredient list of its various ranges. To achieve this objective, our traditional French flours no longer contain added enzymes, and are now 100% wheat.

 

What is the Clean Label?

Clean Label does not currently have an official, regulated definition. In reality, the term refers to an approach implemented by companies to reduce or totally eliminate ingredients that are not recognized by consumers. Far from being just a marketing operation, this approach directly concerns the company's Research & Development departments, which examine the usefulness of each ingredient and review the development of their products in detail.

In concrete terms, the Clean Label makes it possible to :

  - Simplify recipes by reducing ingredients; 

  - Make ingredient lists understandable and transparent for consumers; 

  - Reduce additives; 

  - Return to a more authentic product that meets the current expectations of the majority of consumers.
