Supporting business creation and job growth
Following the closure of its Nancy facility,Grands Moulins de Paris signed an agreement with the Prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselleto revitalize the Greater Nancy metropolitan area’s job market.
An initiative in line with our approach Link by GMP under the “Sectors and Regions” pillar to help foster a dynamic and supportive local community in the regions where we operate.
Under this agreement, we are committedto working with local stakeholderstohelpcreate new opportunities and promote job growth.
Specifically, we serve on a grant review committee that evaluates business development and/or job creation projects submitted by companies, cooperatives, or organizations. Selected projects receive a grant to help bring them to fruition.
At its meeting on May 11, 2023, the Grants Committee decided to award agrant to France ACTIVE Lorraine.
This regional association (part of the France Active network) has two main areas of focus: funding and support.
The initiatives led by France Active Lorraine are directly aligned with the association’s statutory mission, namely job creation and the development of the social and solidarity economy.
As part of this initiative, France Active Lorraine has launcheda multi-stakeholder funding platform that is unique in France:Okoté
Okoté Lorrainegoesbeyond a traditional co-financing model to implement a comprehensive financing approach that involves citizens: for every €1 invested by a citizen, a private partner and a local government partner each contribute an additional €1.
Funding for two organizations: a nonprofit and a funeral cooperative
With the revitalization grant secured, France Active Lorraine has launched crowdfunding campaigns on their platform for the following two organizations:
Au pas des chevaux, an organization that supports people with disabilities and/or vulnerable individuals through equine-assisted therapy programs
La Batelière is a cooperative funeral service provider that empowers its members to organize funerals—a public service mission—based on shared values: environmental sustainability, solidarity, respect, and human dignity.
