“It’s this creative process that fascinates me.”

I introduce myself
Sara Dolle, 30, graphic designer and layout artist at Grands Moulins de Paris since January 2018. After earning a high school diploma in Applied Arts (STI), I naturally and passionately pursued a BTS in Visual Communication (with a focus on graphic design, publishing, and advertising). I then gained diverse experience to broaden my skill set: working at a communications agency, in the creative department of a printing company, as a stylist and graphic designer in the textile industry, and on several freelance projects.

WHY DID YOU JOIN GRANDS MOULINS DE PARIS?

By the end of 2017, after several freelance assignments, I felt the urge to return to the corporate world, with its energy and challenges.

I came across the job posting from Grands Moulins de Paris. The position was a good fit for me, and I wanted to put my experience and skills to work for a great company.

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT LES GRANDS MOULINS DE PARIS?

I am responsible for the visual identity of Grands Moulins de Paris and its brands. Specializing in print media, I design all the materials needed to promote and develop Grands Moulins de Paris, Campaillette, Copaline, Recettes de mon moulin, and more. As part of the Marketing Department, I work closely with a wide range of colleagues: Product Managers, Trade Marketing, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and more. My daily work involves creating posters, catalogs, logos, signage, bags, and other materials.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Creating a logo starts with a brief, followed by an idea, then research, sketches… all the way to the final result—which is just the beginning, because that logo will then be used across a wide variety of media. It’s this creative process that fascinates me. You need imagination and creativity, but also technical knowledge of software like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, because these tools are what allow us to bring our ideas to life. It’s a profession where you never get bored, one that constantly pushes us to give our best, and where it’s important to know how to reinvent yourself, evolve with the times, and keep up with trends.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF GRANDS MOULINS DE PARIS?

I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some wonderful professional projects, but two in particular left a lasting impression on me. I designed the new signage for tours of the Paris-Gennevilliers mill, which gave me the opportunity to spend a lot of time there beforehand and really immerse myself in the heart of the company. I was impressed by the size, complexity, and bustling energy of this iconic building. I’m also very proud to have had the opportunity to design the new Grands Moulins de Paris logo as part of the work on the new brand platform. I’m proud to have left my mark, forever etched in the history of Grands Moulins de Paris.

IN A NUTSHELL, WHAT DOES "GRANDS MOULINS DE PARIS" MEAN TO YOU?

The future!
