With a donation of 11,000 packages of Francine flour
to the Food Bank of the Marne
With the approach of the end of year festivities, the association "Les Agriculteurs ont du Cœur !", with the support of the cooperative group VIVESCIA, its milling company - Grands Moulins de Paris and SOLAAL, are offering 11 tons of Francine flour, the equivalent of 11,000 1kg packets, to the Food Bank of the Marne.
On the occasion of the 2021 edition of the Châlons-en-Champagne Fair, the association "Les Agriculteurs ont du Cœur!" launched a major wheat donation drive, in partnership with the Fédération des Banques Alimentaires, SOLAAL and the VIVESCIA cooperative group. This action was part of the 7th edition of the National Days of Agricultural Donation that SOLAAL organizes every year, allowing to highlight the generosity of farmers. And despite the current context, farmers were generous!
Over 10 days, almost 11 tons of wheat were collected from VIVESCIA farmer-cooperators. The wheat donations were then processed by the cooperative's teams and transformed locally into Francine flour, at the Reims mill, by its milling company - Grands Moulins de Paris.
11,000 packets of Francine flour were given today to the Food Bank of the Marne for the populations in precarious situations. A strong gesture from the agricultural sector to meet a major need: cereal products, essential to good daily nutrition, represent 29% of the food distributed by the Food Banks.
Created in February 2021, the association "Les Agriculteurs ont du cœur!" is a collective of passionate people from the agricultural world who, in a joyful and good-humored way, wish to promote the commitment of the agricultural sector in society. The association intends to build on this first large-scale action in the region to create a real dynamic and strengthen the donations of other agricultural products to food aid as part of the social responsibility of the entire agricultural and food industry.
This operation is an opportunity to remind that following the economic consequences of the health crisis, the 79 Food Banks in France had to face a 12% increase of beneficiaries during the3rd quarter. Faced with this increase in beneficiaries, and despite a National Collection that has collected the equivalent of 20 million meals, the food aid network is launching an appeal for donations, which remain insufficient in these times of health crisis.
