Good things come in threes in Marseille!

On Thursday, July 20, 2023, theMarseillesitecelebratedthree years withoutATAA. Another year filled with pride.

ForAlexandreTEPPAZ, Director of the Marseille mill, zero accidents is possible!

"This is the third year in a row that we've gone without a single workplace injury on our Marseille mill. Well done, everyone!"

Safety is a mindset that extends beyond the company’s doors. We foster this safety culture by empowering our employees. Everyone’s commitment is the key. Without employee commitment, there are no results.
I hope we continue to follow the path we have embarked upon together. We built this safety culture together; it belongs to us. We are still working to develop it, and we continue at every moment to exchange, share, and pass on our experiences, our observations, and our concerns. This sharing helps us grow, and let’s remember: alone we go faster, but together we go further!”

On this occasion,Alexandre TEPPAZ tookthe opportunity to thank and congratulate his colleagues during a social gathering on Friday, September 22, 2023.

According toJean-Christophe COUSIN,Site Manager at Surgères, “It is with great pride that the employees at the Surgères site celebrate two years without ATAA incidents. The anniversary date of August 16, 2023, marks a new milestone in the CARE initiative.
To achieve this, the entire team worked together to ensure workplace safety by implementing the CARE 2025 initiative and preventive measures.Identifying, correcting, and controlling risks, and making workplaces healthier and safer. This shared responsibility has made safety a matter for and by everyone. We must persevere in continuous improvement every day to reinforce the development of a culture of safety and well-being at work.Congratulations to everyone!

It’s been eight years in a row of good living in Brittany!

Building on this momentum, theMûr-de-Bretagnesite celebrated eight years without a single work-related injury resulting in lost time on September 23.

Our facility in Brittany is a 1.5-hectare logistics hubthat supplies our customers in the Brittany region and the Nantes area. Mûr-de-Bretagne was historically a mill built in 1901. In 2022, more than5,500 tonsof flour were shipped to our customers thanks to the five employees working at the site. It is supplied with flours and mixes by the sites in Gennevilliers, Bordeaux, Brienne, and Briare.

Cédric LINCOT,Store Manager at theMûr-de-BretagneTransport location, wanted to highlight some of the CARE initiatives implemented at the site, which have significantly improved the quality of life for employees at work.

“For the Mûr team, zero accidents is achievable! It’s also a goal for quality of life at work that we value. Following discussions during safety meetings, measures were implemented, such as improving our working conditions to prevent injuries during our receiving, preparation, and shipping activities. Since our material-handling equipment needed to be replaced, a new forklift was delivered, equipped with a ground lighting system to alert pedestrians to the machine’s movement and thus reduce the risk of being run over.

In addition, we have two electric double-fork pallet trucks that allow loads to be raised to the appropriate height, thereby reducing musculoskeletal strain during picking or restocking operations.

Finally, to minimize the risk of back pain as much as possible, we have been equipped with exoskeletons that assist us with our movements and postures.

"When upgrading our equipment, we prioritized our staff's well-being!"

Let’s all work together toward CARE 2025!

TheCAREinitiativeisa cornerstone of the company that, since its implementation, has helped reduce workplace accidents and improve employee safety on a daily basis.

“For over 20 years, we have always maintained a strong safety culture at the Surgères site, with excellent incident reporting by operators, engaged employees, and a very low number of workplace accidents.

With the CARE initiative since 2016, we have become better organized. CARE has enabled us to secure the investments we needed, particularly for collective safety measures (securing bulk cargo, a gantry with a lifeline for tankers, stairs replacing cage ladders, various guardrails, etc.). We have improved our safety management methods as well as the monitoring of mandatory periodic inspections.”

Finally, through our safety dialogues, we can engage in open and transparent discussions with operators about safety issues and then plan improvement initiatives. We are all working together toward the common goal of maintaining a zero-lost-time-accident record. We are proud to celebrate two years without a lost-time accident, and we will do everything in our power to surpass our record of 1,700 days (more than 4.5 years).”

Cyril GARGOT,Quality,Safety, andEnvironment (QSE)Manager at the Surgères site

But because we must never let our guard down when it comes to safety, theCARE 2025 programwas launched to provide new momentum and significantly reduce serious or fatal accidents across all VIVESCIA Group sites. While we certainly have a structured safety approach, we do not sufficiently tailor the intensity of our actions to the nature and severity of the risks involved. This is what we aim to correct with CARE 2025 by focusing all our energy and attention on identifying the specific major risks that exist within our various entities and support functions.

“Congratulations to the teams in Marseille, Surgères,andMûr-de-Bretagne for maintaining a record of zero lost-time workplace accidents over the long term.”

"We remain focused onCARE 2025 andour shared goal: zero serious or fatal accidents, achieved by managing the major risks in our operations and fostering a culture of safety. Take Care!"Sophie SCHUT,Safety and Environment Coordinator
