Under the law on the freedom to choose one’s professional future, companies with more than 50 employees must calculate and publish their gender equality index annually.

Grands Moulins de Paris stands out once again

For several years now, Grands Moulins de Paris has been implementing numerous initiatives to promote workplace equality. We have worked actively to reduce all disparities, particularly the gender pay gap. Thanks to this daily, collective commitment, we have achieved a score of 99 out of 100 on the gender equality index since 2022. We are therefore proud to confirm this score for the third consecutive year!

The Gender Equality Index at a Glance

Based on five indicators, each worth between 15 and 40 points, it helpsidentifyareas where companiescan improve in terms of gender equality. Here are the five indicators assessed:

  The gender pay gap

The gap in individual pay raise rates between women and men

The gap in promotion rates between women and men

The pay increase following a return from maternity leave

The number of women and men among the 10 highest-paid individuals

When pay gaps are identified (the trigger threshold is set at a score of 75 out of 100), the company has three years to implement corrective measures; otherwise, it faces penalties of up to 1% of its total payroll.

The law also requires that this index be published on the company’s website and intranet. To make this index even more transparent and to encourage companies in their efforts to promote gender equality, the results are also published on the Ministry of Labor’s website for companies with more than 250 employees.

At Grands Moulins de Paris, there are more than 200 different job roles. Since the milling industry is often perceived as a very male-dominated field, we’re shining a spotlight on positions held by women.
